Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Precollege Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence (PEOPLE) Milwaukee seeks a Milwaukee Precollege Advisor who will advise and facilitate college readiness programming for an assigned caseload and serve as local site administrator for Academic Centers for Enrichment hosted within Milwaukee Public Schools.

This role reports to the Milwaukee Precollege Program Manager.

Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation of program policies and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
• Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
• Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, training, managing conduct and performance, and approving hours worked
• Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the pre-college program
• Serves as a main point of contact to students and provides information about educational options and academic requirements
• Schedules, secures, and communicates logistics and resources in support of a pre-college program
• Provides support in identifying appropriate fields of study, career options, or programs and refers students to appropriate resources
• May assist with monitoring of pre-college program budget spending
• Researches, develops, and facilitates pre-college program content and materials
• Delivers pre-college program content and materials to community members
