Job summary

The Mentor/Tutor position at University of Wisconsin–Madison is based in Milwaukee and supports high school PEOPLE participants within the ACE network. The role focuses on mentoring, tutoring, and reinforcing college-prep skills during the school year, using in-person and virtual instruction at designated sites.

Hours are 3:30–6 PM on Monday to Wednesday, with at least two days per week at Milwaukee Public High Schools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with high school students or college prep programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with instructional staff for content clarification when appropriate
• Monitors student performance and/or assists learners in academic environments
• Clarifies learning problems and assists with the development of study skills
• Schedules study sessions with learners and provides assistance understanding curriculum-based concepts and materials
