The Mentor/Tutor position at University of Wisconsin–Madison is based in Milwaukee and supports high school PEOPLE participants within the ACE network. The role focuses on mentoring, tutoring, and reinforcing college-prep skills during the school year, using in-person and virtual instruction at designated sites.
Hours are 3:30–6 PM on Monday to Wednesday, with at least two days per week at Milwaukee Public High Schools.

Travel to the worksiteand within the designated work region is considered a normal jobrequirement. Precollege Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence(PEOPLE) is a college prep program for students in the MadisonMetropolitan School District and the Milwaukee Public SchoolDistrict. The program is designed for students with strong academicpotential, identifies with one of UW Systems targeted minoritygroups and/or is low-income; most of whom are the first intheirfamilies to potentially attend college.
Their journey prepares them to apply, be successfully admitted, andenroll at University of Wisconsin System institutions with anemphasis on University of Wisconsin-Madison. PEOPLE providescollege prep services by providing programming and opportunity forgrowth in four areas;
Students who are accepted into the University of Wisconsin-Madisonmay be eligible for a four-year tuition scholarship and supportservices from our College Scholars Program.
The Mentor/Tutor is a person who will work in-person/virtually at aparticular Academic Center for Enrichment (ACE) site and serve as amentor/tutor to high school PEOPLE Participants.

The position runs the entire school year, starting September 28th,2026 with the last day of ACE being May 7th, 2027. We followMilwaukee Public School's calendar, so when school is out, so arewe i.e., winter break, spring break, etc.
