Job summary

McWane, Inc. is seeking skilled Mechanical Millwrights for the 2nd shift at Tyler Union in Anniston, AL. This full-time, non-exempt role requires prior industrial maintenance experience with mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

Compensation includes competitive pay, robust medical/dental/vision coverage, life/AD&D, and PTO after six months. Associates degree or technical training preferred; 3–5 years of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical training preferred.
• Three to five years of related on-the-job experience required.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and technology in production.
• Skills include installation, equipment maintenance, operation monitoring, critical thinking, repairing, troubleshooting, active learning, active listening, coordination, and monitoring.
• Abilities include arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, control precision, manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, problem sensitivity, information ordering, verbal comprehension, trunk strength, and visualization.
• Work activities include repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment; handling and moving objects; inspecting equipment; making decisions and prioritizing work.
• Must wear safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.

Responsibilities

• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, and measuring tools.
• Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools.
• Dismantle machines when needed and replace defective parts.
• Set bedplate centerline and level structures for proper alignment.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, and rollers.
• Lay out mounting holes and drill with power drill.
• Signal crane operator to position components accurately.
• Follow Tyler Union Safety Management Program and report deviations.
