Job summary

Hood Lumber seeks a skilled maintenance professional to support our production lines. The successful candidate will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on lumber equipment, including repairs on belts, motors, hydraulics, and other components, while ensuring safe operation and compliance with Policies.

With 3+ years as a millwright and a strong focus on reliability, you will participate in continuous improvement projects, manage parts inventory, and operate forklifts as required on a

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' work experience as a millwright.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Maintenance experience in a lumber, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Ability to understand and follow safety rules and policies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and replace production equipment and machinery.
• Repair/replace belts, hoses, valves, sprockets, chains, motors, spindles, blades, bearings, and other parts.
• Monitor spare parts inventory and reorder as needed.
• Perform metal working (welding, cutting, fabricating) when required.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, or other rolling stock as needed.
• Communicate maintenance issues with coworkers and management.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
