Job summary

Hecla Mining Company in Idaho seeks a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, modify and repair mill equipment including SAG and ball mills, conveyors, pumps and piping systems. The role requires practical welding and light fabrication.

You will work with a team, generate work orders, ensure safety compliance with MSHA and environmental rules, and participate in risk assessments and job safety discussions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience in maintaining and repairing milling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and heavy construction equipment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, fabricate and repair mill equipment such as SAG mill, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, and piping systems.
• Perform occasional welding and light fabrication.
• Generate work orders; check on the status of orders, and pick up parts and supplies from warehouse. Operate heavy equipment associated with mill operations and maintenance.
• Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regard to Safety, Human Resources, and Environmental.
• Must follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities.
• Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.
