Job summary

Lee Industrial Contracting in Michigan is seeking skilled field technicians to transport, install, assemble, and dismantle machinery and conveyor systems, read blueprints, and lead apprentices on smaller projects.

Candidates should be mechanically inclined, familiar with rigging, welding, alignment, and fabricating bases; must read instructions, work independently, and hold a valid driver’s license. Safety and teamwork are core values.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with common hand tools.
• Basic math and geometry knowledge.
• Rigger 1 certified and qualified.
• Align equipment or machinery.
• Stick (Arc) welding.
• Forming & grouting machine bases.
• Ability to work effectively with all personality types.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Self-directed and can work independently.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location according to floor plans, or as directed using forklifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment.
• Install, assemble, and, when necessary, dismantle machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
• Use micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required.
• Follow instructions from foreman and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Lead an apprentice on smaller projects.
• Support and work in tandem with team members on various projects.
• Read and understand design layouts and blueprints.
• Keep the job site clean and well-organized.
• Handle loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards.
• Fuel and wash department vehicles.
