Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain and construct industrial machinery, pumps, and utilities across our facilities in Anchorage. The role covers air, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime, with responsibility for reading schematics, fabricating parts, and performing preventive maintenance.

Candidate must demonstrate mechanical knowledge, safe welding practices, and the ability to work with multiple materials.

Qualifications

• Must work with metals and other materials such as wood to fabricate industrial machinery or assemble machines from pre-fabricated parts.
• Must be able to read blueprints and other schematics to aid in construction of complex systems.
• Analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains mobile, stationary, plant and facility equipment.
• Lays out and performs construction and maintenance projects; welds per AWS standards.
• Reads manuals, schedules preventive maintenance, replaces defective parts and adjusts alignments.
• Fabricates lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, or shields per blueprints.
• Documents repairs and maintenance for each piece of equipment and ensures compliance with laws and company policies.
