Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a qualified Millwright/Maintenance Technician for our sawmill in Sonora, California. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and machinery in a large manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education.
• Welding, cutting and using hand tools for repairs.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and bearings.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Dismantle machinery, locate causes of malfunctions, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacements.
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
• Assemble, install and proactively maintain mechanical systems for efficient operation.
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift and welding truck.
• Fabricate, weld, mill and lathe as needed.
• Perform general maintenance safely and maintain a clean work area.
• Work may include varying shifts and overtime.
