Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is hiring a Millwright / Maintenance Technician for our Anderson, California sawmill. You will maintain, repair and optimize mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, using welding and machining skills.

Qualifications

2 years recent verifiable sawmill/heavy industrial work history or equivalent education.
Experience machining on manual mill and lathe.
Proficient welding and cutting for repairs.
Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings.
Ability to identify and repair mechanical defects.
Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.
Boom truck and crane operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Dismantle machinery, locate faults, and fabricate replacement parts as needed.
Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements.
Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system performance.
Assemble and maintain mechanical systems and equipment for efficient operation.
Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck.
Fabricate, weld, mill and lathe as needed.
Perform general maintenance safely and keep work area clean.
Work with varying shifts including weekends/holidays during busy periods.
