Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a skilled Millwright to plan, lay out, install and align heavy machinery on industrial sites in Port Arthur, TX. The role demands precise measurement, alignment, and safe handling of equipment, with attention to plans, specifications and tolerances.

You will work with hand and power tools, read foundations and centerlines, and assist with rigging, testing and commissioning of machinery while complying with safety rules and project requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient in safe use of electrical, hand and power tools and layout/measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay-out for millwright work.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and align machinery.
• Review inventory; prepare foundations and alignment plans for equipment.
• Torque and rig equipment; test installed machinery and adjust as needed.
• Dismantle machines and move equipment with hoists and rollers.
• Assemble and install equipment; align on foundations or structures.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities and required resources.
• Inspect subcontractors' work for contract compliance.
