Job summary

ITAC in Norfolk, VA is hiring an Iron Worker to erect and install structural steel components, weld and bolt-up elements, and operate cranes and aerial lifts safely. You will read blueprints, inspect work, and collaborate with welders, fabricators, and engineers to complete projects on time and within budget.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of corrosion-free construction experience with strong knowledge of structural steel and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Iron Worker in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of structural components and their installation processes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate cranes, aerial lifts, and other construction equipment.
• Excellent welding and bolt-up skills.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Be able to pass background and drug test

Responsibilities

• Safely operate cranes and aerial lifts to lift and position structural components

• Collaborate with other team members, such as welders, fabricators, and engineers, to complete projects on time and within budget
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others

The typical hourly rate for this position is $38.00 to $39.00 based on experience
