Job summary

Hunter Contracting Co. in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a seasoned millwright supervisor to lead installation, repair, replacement, and dismantling of heavy equipment at water and wastewater plants. You will work with the Project Team to ensure safe, on-schedule execution according to plans and specs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a millwright and 2+ years in supervision, with blueprint reading and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of millwright experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of machinery installation, rigging, hoists, cranes, ropes and cables.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in varying field conditions.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate people, equipment, and resources while working with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of construction production methods and safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Plan and coordinate machinery and heavy equipment installation activities.
• Lead and direct crews and subcontractors, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety.
• Develop weekly 3-week look-ahead schedules, including labor and equipment needs.
• Monitor production, project progress, and job costs; identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate daily activities with the Project Team and other departments.
• Inspect equipment upon delivery and before leaving the project; report damage or issues.
• Maintain quality control of work performed by crews and subcontractors.
• Enforce Hunter Contracting Co. safety policies and promote a strong safety culture.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
