Job summary

Handling Systems and Conveyors, Inc. seeks a Millwright Installation Foreman or Superintendent to lead the installation, alignment, and commissioning of industrial machinery on job sites.

You will supervise crews, plan sequences, interpret blueprints, and coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to meet milestones. Requires 8-10+ years in millwright roles, leadership experience, willingness to travel, and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• 8-10+ years of millwright experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment installation, and precision alignment.
• Strong understanding of rigging practices, cranes, and lifting procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments and travel as required.
• Knowledge of structural steel erection, connecting, rigging, welding, reinforcing steel, and miscellaneous metals installation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate millwright crews involved in installing, maintaining, and relocating industrial machinery and equipment.
• Plan and execute installation sequences, including rigging, alignment, precision measurement, and mechanical assembly.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project goals are met.
• Schedule labor, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines and deliverables.
• Oversee rigging operations, including lifts, hoisting, and crane coordination.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct job site safety meetings, inspections, and enforce safe work practices.
• Identify and resolve installation issues and mechanical problems in real time.
• Monitor project progress and provide status reports to management.
• Ensure quality control standards throughout installation.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors as needed.
• Participate in commissioning and startup of installed equipment.
