Job summary

SEPTA is hiring for a Bldgs Millwright-First Cl (1151) role. The incumbent will inspect, repair, and replace electro-mechanical equipment across our facilities, including cranes, hoists, elevators, and pumps, ensuring safe operation and adherence to safety policies.

The position requires 3 years of relevant experience, PA driver’s license, and the ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics. Trade school may substitute for some experience; hand tools provided by the employee or tool

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years relevant full-time work experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
• Trade school completion may substitute for up to one year of experience.
• Must have experience with cutting and threading pipe up to 2 inches in diameter.
• Must pass pre-employment and performance tests as required.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, disassemble, repair and replace electro-mechanical equipment including cranes, hoists, pumps, motors, doors and related gear.
• Erect scaffolding and perform rigging as required.
• Diagnose electrical trouble using testing devices and repair accordingly.
• Manufacture, install, and repair components like bushings, bearings, pulleys, gears and belts.
• Adhere to safety policies and report hazards affecting operations or the public.
