Job summary

Pacific Woodtech (PWT) in Wilmington, NC is seeking an experienced full-time Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. You will repair and maintain production machinery, troubleshoot hydraulic systems, conveyors, and related equipment, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

You will work across departments, explain mechanical concepts to staff, and contribute to ongoing improvements in efficiency and reliability. On-call and potential weekend shifts are required as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent
• Knowledge of basic electricity principles
• Experience with hydraulics, conveyors, or fabrication is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across mechanical systems
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to staff and leadership

Responsibilities

• Repair or maintain industrial production machinery and equipment
• Perform on-site, facility-wide maintenance in varying weather
• Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, and mechanical components
• Adjust equipment for optimal performance and reliability
• Replace worn or damaged parts and perform routine preventive maintenance
• Clean, lubricate, and calibrate machinery; disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed
• Communicate mechanical concepts across departments and collaborate to maintain uptime
• Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize production capacity
• Occasional on-call, weekend, or night shifts as required

• Industrial Mechanic with 5 or more years of experience; Vocational training may be substituted for experience

• An excellent communicator with the ability to explain mechanical concepts

• Experience with hydraulics, roller conveyors, and fabrication is a plus!

Job Description

• Repair or maintain industrial production machinery and equipment
• Perform on-site, facility-wide maintenance in various weather conditions
• Operate, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, motors, and pumps
• Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts
• Perform routine, preventative maintenance on equipment
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
• Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs
• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
• Communicate mechanical concepts to all levels of staff and management
• Collaborate across departments to troubleshoot and maintain equipment performance
• Continuously innovate to support optimized production capacity
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule

• Monday - Friday 7am-7pm
• Must have the ability to work on call (including weekends) and holidays
