Oregon Steel Mills in Portland, Oregon is hiring a journeyman-level millwright. The position pays $42 per hour or more with monthly incentive bonus opportunities.

The role involves repairs, installations and maintenance of heavy machinery, cranes and conveyors in a heavy industrial setting. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, assembling/dismantling equipment, building foundations and weld work, with emphasis on predictive maintenance and safety.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level millwright status or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, rebuild machinery and operate mobile/bridge cranes and forklifts, cutting torch and welding skills, basic computer and math skills and a valid driver’s license.
• 4 years of heavy industrial plant maintenance, bearing maintenance training, Ivara experience and predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, laser alignment) are preferred.
