Job summary

Worley is hiring an industrial machinery installer and maintenance technician. You will read blueprints and layouts to determine work procedures, and assemble, align, and install equipment, conveyors, and foundations on industrial sites using cranes, hand tools, and power tools.

Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years in industrial construction/maintenance and knowledge of alignment, bearings, seals, pumps, and gearboxes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical seals, bearings, pumps, gearboxes and related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantles machines using hand tools; moves and installs equipment using hoists and rollers.
  • Assembles and installs equipment including conveyors and rails; constructs foundations.
  • Aligns machines using hoists, jacks, micrometers; optical/laser alignment knowledge.
  • May operate engine lathe to machine parts or install robots and modify programs.
  • Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning and repair of tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Observes safety and project rules; performs other duties as required.

Primary ResponsibilitiesReads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation and operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.Assembles and installs equipment, such as shaffing, conveyors and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools and power tools.Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.May install robot and modify its program using teach pendant.May use transit and level for equipment setting.Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.Performs other duties as required.Qualifications· Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience· Knowledge of reverse alignment (where required), different types of metals, different types of bearings, mechanical seals, tandem seals, compression packing, multi-stage pumps, vertical pumps, different types of drive coupling, cooling tower fan units, gearboxes and agitators, gas turbines (where applicable) steam turbines, centrifugal compressor, reciprocal compressor, machine shop equipment, hydraulic reading and IRD readingMoving forward togetherWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
