Job summary

AK Industrial Contractors, Inc. is seeking a qualified Millwright to install and assemble mechanical equipment on site.

You will read and follow installation drawings, specs and procedures, and use torque wrenches and precision measuring tools to position, align, and secure equipment. The role requires experience with pallet jacks and lifting equipment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship while adhering to PPE and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous millwright or mechanical installation experience.
• Ability to read installation drawings, specifications and procedures.
• Experience with torque wrenches and precision measuring tools.
• Experience with equipment positioning, fit-up, alignment, leveling.
• Experience operating pallet jacks, material carts and lift equipment.
• Ability to inspect equipment for damage before installation.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Able to safely perform repetitive lifting as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble mechanical equipment per drawings and specs.
• Read and follow installation procedures and written instructions.
• Utilize hand/power tools, torque wrenches and measuring devices.
• Position, align, level and fasten equipment.
• Operate pallet jacks, carts and lifting equipment.
• Inspect components for damage prior to installation.
• Maintain safety PPE and site safety practices.
• Collaborate with supervision and OEM technicians; background/drug checks.

The ideal candidate will have Previous millwright, mechanical equipment installation or industrial assembly experience; Ability to read and follow installation drawings, specifications and written procedures; Skilled with hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches and precision measuring tools; Experience with equipment positioning, fit-up, alignment, leveling and fastening; Experience operating pallet jacks, material carts and compact lifting equipment; Ability to inspect equipment and components for damage before installation; Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship; Able to safely perform repetitive lifting and equipment positioning as part of a three-to-five-person team using mechanical aids; Must follow all PPE, site-safety and equipment-handling requirements; OSHA 10 training preferred; Must be dependable, punctual and able to work effectively with project supervision and OEM technicians; Must be able to pass background check; Must be able to pass drug uranalysis screening; Prefer Local to the Central Arkansas area or able to commute reliably
