Key Responsibilities
Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand the function and assembly of machinery.
Perform precision alignments of shafts, gears, and other machine components using tools such as levels, lasers, and optical alignment equipment.
Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on various types of industrial machinery.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, including welding and cutting equipment, as needed for installation and repair.
Fabricate, weld, and repair machine parts or structures as necessary.
Work closely with riggers and other crew members during machinery relocation projects to ensure smooth transitions and installations.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Document work performed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and installation checklists.
Assist in rigging operations when expertise in machinery assembly/disassembly is required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program or vocational training preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Millwright in an industrial or heavy machinery environment.
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
