Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand the function and assembly of machinery.
  • Perform precision alignments of shafts, gears, and other machine components using tools such as levels, lasers, and optical alignment equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on various types of industrial machinery.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, including welding and cutting equipment, as needed for installation and repair.
  • Fabricate, weld, and repair machine parts or structures as necessary.
  • Work closely with riggers and other crew members during machinery relocation projects to ensure smooth transitions and installations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Document work performed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and installation checklists.
  • Assist in rigging operations when expertise in machinery assembly/disassembly is required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Millwright in an industrial or heavy machinery environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, laser alignment tools).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills (e.g., stick, MIG) a plus.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills for machinery malfunctions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally, and work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects.
  • Capable of working in various positions, including standing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and industrial environments with varying temperatures.
