Job summary

Merric Millwork and Seating is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning and execution of assigned projects on-site, coordinating with Project Management, Estimating, Engineering, Production, and Materials Management. The role emphasizes meticulous document control, shop drawing reviews, version tracking, and timely submittals.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in project management or administrative support; 2+ years in millwork or cabinetmaking.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project handoff meetings with PM, Estimating and Engineering.
• Assist with internal and external project walkthroughs to identify potential challenges.
• Review and manage shop drawings and revisions before submittal.
• Communicate scope or budget deviations to the PM.
• Coordinate information flow between PM, Engineering, Production and Materials Management.
• Maintain accurate version control for all project documentation (submittals, POs, RFIs, ASIs, production forms, shipping docs).
• Ensure Engineering and Production packets are complete and released on time.
• Serve as a point of contact for production-related questions.
• Interpret production drawings to ensure projects meet budget and contract requirements.
• Walk the production floor to verify progress; report to PM.
