Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year as an assistant miller or similar milling experience.
• Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of mill equipment and basic maintenance needs.
• Knowledge of different wheat varieties.
• Knowledge of grain science and analytical procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting production problems.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
• Willing to work with wheat products (no wheat/gluten sensitivity).

Responsibilities

• Review and manage the milling flow sheet and adjust equipment to optimize yield and maintain quality.
• Identify wheat varieties and ensure products meet customer specifications during the shift.
• Observe equipment operations to detect malfunctions and implement corrections.
• Assist with maintenance on milling equipment and resolve milling problems.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Clean and lubricate equipment and work areas as required.
• Ensure product mix and weights align with customer specifications.
• Conduct laboratory analyses as described by approved methods and record results.
• Provide supervision or direction to hourly mill personnel when needed.
