Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company in Mount Olive, IL seeks a Mill Operator to operate and maintain production in the flour mill under the guidance of the Head Miller/Shift Miller.

The role features a 12-hour rotating schedule (7 AM–7 PM) with weekend work and potential holidays, supporting food safety programs and delivering quality and service. A HS diploma and milling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years flour milling or food production experience.
• Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test.
• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication with internal/external customers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer use.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all areas of production in the flour mill.
• Assist Head Miller/Shift Miller with mill changes and daily operations.
• Perform quality analysis and food safety checks for flour transfers.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment following SOPs.
• Attend required training sessions and assist with training Mill Utility personnel.
• In the absence of Head Miller/Shift Miller, perform essential duties.
