Major Role and Purpose:

• Operate asphalt milling machine to mill asphalt for use in resurfacing highways, roadways, parking lots, etc.

Description of Duties:

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Properly manipulate hand or foot levers to control the milling machine.
• Guide and direct dump trucks while backing up to the machine conveyor.
• Position and secure workpieces on machines using holding devices, measuring instruments, hand tools, and hoists.
• Verify alignment of workpieces using measuring instruments such as gauges or calipers.
• Observe milling machine operation and adjust controls to meet specified tolerances.
• Overtime work is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education:

• High School Diploma / GED

Work Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Milling Machine Operator preferred.

Skills Required:

• Effective communication and organization skills.

Physical Demands:

• Climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, reaching.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime work is required.
• Potential exposure to extreme hot or cold weather.
