Job summary

Miller Pipeline is seeking a Pipeline Laborer with a Class A CDL to support gas distribution pipeline crews in Manassas, VA. This full-time, permanent position involves repair, maintenance, installation, and fusion of plastic pipe, with travel to nearby sites as needed.

Responsibilities include lifting tools, shoveling, operating hauling vehicles, and assisting in demolition and reconditioning of old pipe. A DOT physical and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years’ experience may substitute education.
• 1 year of outdoor work or manual labor experience required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
• Clean driving record and a DOT physical or ability to obtain one upon employment (reimbursed).
• Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in repair, maintenance, construction, installation, and fusion of plastic pipe for gas distribution pipelines.
• Lift tools and equipment safely and work with team to complete tasks.
• Dig, shovel, and move material and assist in demolitions or reconditioning of old pipe.
• Operate vehicles used for hauling and travel to job sites as needed.

Miller Pipeline is looking to add hardworking Pipeline Laborers with a CDL-A to work on our gas distribution pipeline crews. Duties include assisting in the repair, maintenance, construction, installation, and fusion of plastic pipe, and in the reconditioning of gas distribution pipelines.

Pipeline Laborer Main Responsibilities are:

• Properly lift tools, objects and equipment of varying weight.
• Compress soil and asphalt.
• Shovel material, soil and cold patch asphalt mix.
• Operate vehicles used for hauling.
• Assist in the demolition, take-up and reconditioning of old pipe.
• Score and break asphalt or concrete with a jackhammer.
• Repair backfilled trench areas with grass seed or asphalt.
• Travel frequently within the area for work assignments.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years’ experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• 1 year of outdoor work or manual labor experience required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Clean driving record and a DOT physical or ability to obtain one upon employment (reimbursed upon hire).
• Class A CDL.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year gas construction experience.
