Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking qualified Mill/Turn machinists to support prototype fabrication. You will set up and operate Mill/Turn CNCs and wire EDM, fabricating complex parts from drawings and CAD models for internal and external customers.

Candidates should have an AAS in Machining Technologies or equivalent, with 4+ years of related experience or Journeyperson credentials. CAD/CAM experience (Solidworks, MasterCam) and GD&T proficiency are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AAS) in Machining Technologies or equivalent precision metalworking program with 4 years related experience; OR 6 years prototype experience; OR Journeyperson pathway with 4 years experience.
• Experience developing machining processes, fixturing and tooling design and selection.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, verniers) for basic part measurements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Mill/Turn CNC tools to produce high-tidelity parts with tight tolerances.
• Fabricate parts from drawings and CAD models in both classified and unclassified environments.
• Collaborate in a team-focused, safe workplace and provide fabrication services for internal and external customers.
