Job summary

Domtar is seeking a Mill Technician to join the Marlboro Paper Mill in Bennettsville, SC. The role requires operational, maintenance and E&I skills; starting pay is $26.62/hr plus $0.65 CPA, with potential to earn $70K+ per year after 12–18 months and top earnings over $100K.

You will monitor processes, troubleshoot equipment, maintain documentation, and perform safety‑driven duties. The job involves 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, with training and SOP

Qualifications

• 2+ years of continuous employment preferred, ideally in manufacturing
• Associate degree in engineering, electronics or science recommended
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be 18+ years old
• Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and work in heights, confined spaces, around noise and inclement weather
• Strong safety record and ability to learn complex process systems

Starting pay is $26.62/hr (plus $0.65/hr Continuous Process Allowance - CPA) with the ability to earn $70K+/year after 12-18 months. Top performers can earn more than $100K/year!

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluates and corrects problems by monitoring processes and equipment and informing other technicians of issues as needed.
• Troubleshoots equipment by noticing/investigating problems, performing repairs or submitting work notifications for repairs.
• Maintains proper documentation for processes and equipment.
• Performs housekeeping duties.
• Performs work responsibilities in a safe manner by adhering to safety procedures. Review and/or recommends updates to safety procedures.
• Assists with writing of SOPs, training, and/or safety procedures by reviewing and updating.
• Performs specific functions as defined in certified skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of continuous employment preferred, and preferably in a manufacturing facility, OR have an Associate degree in engineering, electronics or science.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, work at heights, in confined spaces, around noise, and in inclement weather.
• Ability to train in and comprehend complex process systems.
• Excellent prior work history and safety record.
• Experienced skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• High math ability with a minimum score of 6 on WorkKeys Math Test.
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
• History of demonstrated helpfulness and "can do" attitude.
