Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• At least 6 years of machine shop experience, including 5 years of CNC experience or as a journeyman machinist

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience working with small precision parts and tight tolerances
• Proficiency with basic inspection tools and techniques
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and shop math
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Equipment Used

• CNC lathe and/or mills

Physical Requirements

• Light work involving exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently; ability to stand for over 8 hours
• Close and color vision
• Work conditions include exposure to noise, vibration, coolants, and oils
