Job summary

SpiTrex CTE is hiring for a CNC Machinist on 2nd shift (Mon–Thu, 3PM–1AM) to set up, run, and troubleshoot mills and/or Swiss machines. You will read blueprints, verify tolerances with micrometers and calipers, and ensure quality while meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read basic level blueprints features.
• Basic understanding of metrology reporting and math.
• Knowledge of Quality System requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select, install, and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for CNC machines.
• Perform machine setup, including zeroing axes and loading programs.
• Monitor machine operations and adjust to maintain quality and productivity.
• Troubleshoot machining issues including tooling wear and offsets.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with inspection, leads, and off-shift personnel.
• Support process improvements to reduce scrap and improve quality.
• Prioritize tasks according to demand.
• Conform to ISO13485 and 21 CFR Part 820 standards.

2nd Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3PM - 1AM

This position in will need to be able to run a mill and/or swiss.

Essential Functions:

• Select, install, and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for CNC machines
• Perform machine setup, including zeroing axes, loading programs, and verifying parameters.
• Monitor machine operations during production runs and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, including tooling wear, offsets, and surface finish concerns.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with Inspection, Leads and Off-shift Personnel
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve quality.
• Ability to prioritize according to demand
• Good housekeeping
• Conform to ISO13485, 21 CFR Part 820, and medical device industry requirements
• Other work-related tasks as assigned

Competency:

• Must be able to read basic level blueprints features
• Must be able to use micrometers, dial calipers, and comparators
• Basic understanding of metrology reporting
• Basic math, calculation, and related skills needed
• Ability to comply with Quality System requirements
• Must be respectful and display a positive attitude

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of Medical Device experience
