Job summary

Milkjam Creamery is seeking friendly scoopers to join our chef-driven ice cream shop. You will greet guests, guide them through flavors, and serve cones, cups, and sundaes to our high presentation standards.

You’ll communicate ingredients and allergens clearly while keeping the case well stocked and spotless. Responsibilities include efficient order processing with POS systems, opening/closing duties, and teamwork to ensure guests leave happier than they entered.

Qualifications

• Customer service or hospitality experience helpful
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to multitask and stay composed during busy rushes
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly and guide them through the menu, samples, and flavor pairings
• Know every flavor on the case, including ingredients, inspiration, and allergens
• Scoop, build, and serve cones, cups, sundaes, and specialty items to recipe and presentation standards
• Keep the line moving without losing the hospitality and handle guest concerns with care and a solution-oriented approach
• Process orders and payments accurately using POS systems
• Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked case by rotating and restocking tubs, toppings, cones, and dry goods throughout the shift
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including scoop well and dipping cabinet care, as well as accurately communicating dietary restrictions and following cross contamination procedures for allergens
• Complete opening and closing duties thoroughly to Milkjam standards, including maintaining and stocking service counter and back of house areas
• Be a team player and support teammates wherever the shop needs it
• Be yourself. Bring your own personality to the counter, not a script
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Position Summary

From critically acclaimed Chef Sameh Wadi, Milkjam Creamery is a chef-driven ice cream shop where every flavor is made by hand, in house, in small batches. We treat ice cream the way a great kitchen treats food: real ingredients, bold ideas, no shortcuts. Some flavors are nostalgic, some are weird, all of them are made with intention.

We're building a team of scoopers who love people as much as they love ice cream. Our scoopers are the face of Milkjam. You're the first hello, the guide through the case, the one who hands over a sample and finds someone their new favorite flavor. Every guest should leave happier than they walked in.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ to apply

• Previous customer service, food service, or hospitality experience preferred, not required

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Ability to multitask and stay composed during busy rushes

• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness

• Genuine passion for ice cream, food, and making people's day

• Friendly, upbeat, and easy to talk to

• Eager to learn and take feedback

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 5-8 hours at a time

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

• Ability to scoop hard ice cream repeatedly throughout a shift

• Ability to bend, reach, and stretch into dipping cabinets, freezers, and storage

• Comfortable working in cold environments, including walk-in freezers
