Job summary

Bexar County PA is seeking a Military Services Officer to develop and coordinate comprehensive transition plans that help service members and their families re-enter civilian life. You will work with a transition team to assess needs, connect resources, and prepare briefings for leadership and higher headquarters.

As part of the role, you will maintain relationships with community partners, assess program effectiveness, and ensure compliance through audits and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Services, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience with or counseling active military members and/or families.
• Strong planning, analysis and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and develops transition plans for development efforts for each member while consulting with a transition team(s).
• Identifies gaps in services and coordinates resources to expedite outcomes and improve service delivery.
• Researches benefits, services, and discharges; assists with educational loans, insurance and pension matters.
• Promotes use of local, state and federal resources via government and veteran agencies.
• Prepares policies/procedures and conducts briefings/orientations for leadership and stakeholders.
• Represents the office at meetings, conferences and advisory councils with diverse personnel.
• Builds and maintains relationships with command staff, local officials and public/private partners.
• Plans and conducts outside assurance testing to ensure program quality and adequate coverage.
• Performs administrative/analytical tasks and audits member files for compliance.
• May require weekends and travel; may involve security clearance requirements.
