Job summary

Amentum is seeking a packer for the 2nd shift (1:00 pm – 9:30 pm MT) to pack-repack a wide variety of materials and verify release-order requirements per DLA regulations. The role includes MHE operation, data entry, labeling, and basic reporting in a shop environment with hazardous conditions.

Required: high school diploma or GED, ability to obtain MHE license within 30 days, and ability to pass HAZMAT certification training. Travel and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection.
• Packers who process material requiring HAZMAT Certification must be able to successfully pass training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per DLA regulations.
• Ensures material is properly preserved/packaged/marked/labeled in accordance with Military Standards prior to releasing material to storage or shipping.
• Selects proper size container and cushioning to be used from available stock to ensure protection against damage.
• Conduct basic processes of inspection/examination procedures for material.
• Read specifications and photographs as/if required in DLA contract.
• May operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in combination with packing duties to load material on and off of skids, pallets, stands and vehicles.
• Receive data from and input data to DSS and other automated systems in performance of duties and be able to prepare basic reports.
• Count, weight, record data, prepare and apply tags/labels. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
