Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Material Handler for 2nd shift in Utah to pack and/or re-pack a wide variety of materials in compliance with DLA regulations. The role may require operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and handling hazardous materials.

A valid MHE license (within 30 days) and HAZMAT certification training are required, with potential security clearance. This is a 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm MT shift, NTE 30 June 2027.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) months general work experience.
• Must be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection.
• Packers who process material requiring HAZMAT Certification must pass training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per DLA regulations.
• Ensures material is properly preserved/packaged/marked/labeled in accordance with Military Standards prior to releasing material to storage or shipping.
• Selects proper size container and cushioning to protect against damage.
• Conduct basic inspection/examination procedures for material.
• Read specifications and photographs as required in DLA contracts.
• May operate MHE in packing duties to load material on/off skids, pallets, stands and vehicles.
• Receive data from and input data to DSS and other automated systems and prepare basic reports.
• Count, weight, record data, apply tags/labels.
