Job summary

Amentum is seeking an on-site Material Handler to support the Transportation team on 2nd shift (1:00 pm – 9:30 pm MT). The role packs and re-packs diverse materials, verifies release order requirements, and applies labels as required by military standards and regulatory guidelines.

You will select containers, perform basic inspection procedures, potentially operate MHE, input data to DSS, and help prepare simple reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) months general work experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection.
• Position may require travel.
• Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per DLA regulations.
• Ensures material is properly preserved/packaged/marked/labeled in accordance with Military Standards prior to releasing material to storage or shipping.
• Selects proper size container and cushioning to be used from available stock to ensure protection against damage.
• Conduct basic processes of inspection/examination procedures for material.
• Read specifications and photographs as/if required in DLA contract.
• May operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in combination with packing duties to load material on and off of skids, pallets, stands and vehicles.
• Receive data from and input data to DSS and other automated systems in performance of duties and be able to prepare basic reports.
• Count, weight, record data, prepare and apply tags/labels. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
