Job summary

Universal Health Services in Raleigh, NC seeks a Military Program Manager to lead the Military Behavioral Health Recovery Program. You will oversee day-to-day operations for the 28-day inpatient stay, ensuring evidence-based, trauma-informed care for active-duty service members, veterans and military beneficiaries.

  • Education: Master's Degree specializing in social work preferred, with strong candidates in clinical mental health considered.
  • Five years of experience in mental/behavioral health; leadership experience preferred.
  • Current unrestricted North Carolina LCSW license required; LCSWA considered within one year of ABSW exam.
  • Experience in Military Behavioral Health, PTSD treatment, trauma-informed care, inpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization or IOP.
  • Preferred experience with Active-Duty Service Members, Veterans, military families and first responders.
  • CPR certification and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within 90 days; knowledge of JCAHO/HCFA, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

The Military Program Manager, under the direction of the Executive Director, and in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services (DCS), provides operational and clinical leadership for the Military Behavioral Health Recovery Program. This individual in collaboration with the DCS, is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, quality oversight, and continuous improvement of the 28-day inpatient stay, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, trauma-informed care for Active-Duty Service Members, Veterans, National Guard, Reservists, and eligible military beneficiaries.

The Program Manager leads an interdisciplinary team and serves as the primary liaison between clinical services, nursing, medical staff, recreational therapy, case management, business development, military commands (when appropriate), and executive leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Master's Degree specializing in social work preferred, will consider clinical related mental health areas for strong candidates with demonstrated experience.
  • Experience: Five (5) years' experience in the mental health /behavioral health field. A plus for experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility and minimum three years leadership experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Current unrestricted North Carolina LCSW license required: W ill consider LCSWA with experience and is within one year of national ABSW LCSW test.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Military Behavioral Health; PTSD treatment; Trauma-informed care; Inpatient Psychiatry; Partial Hospitalization; Intensive Outpatient Programs.
  • Preferred experience working with: Active-Duty Service Members; Veterans; Military Families; Special Operations; First Responders.
  • Knowledge (basic): Military culture, Trauma-informed care, PTSD, Suicide prevention, CBT, ACT, CPT, Prolonged Exposure, Motivational Interviewing, Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care.
  • Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within 90 days of employment. Thorough knowledge of JCAHO/HCFA, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements.
