Job summary

Magellan Health on Joint Base Andrews, MD, seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to deliver one-on-one counseling and group workshops for service members and families. The role collaborates with installation leadership, provides budgeting and debt-management guidance, and develops educational materials for military life events.

The counselor will use virtual platforms as needed, participate in regular supervision, and must meet DoD requirements including AFC/CFP/ChFC certifications and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling to service members and their families on military installations.
• Develop and deliver financial education materials and workshops.
• Coordinate with installation leadership and POCs to ensure program scope and needs are met.
• Utilize virtual counseling modes (web-based, chat, video) as allowed by the contract.
• Follow DoD protocol for duty to warn and participate in supervision and contract activities.
