Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Personal Financial Counselor for National Guard services in Latham, NY. You will deliver financial counseling to service members and families at military installations, developing spending plans, workshops, and informational materials.

You may use virtual counseling tools as required by DoD FINRED, and will coordinate with leadership to address trends and ensure program scope and needs are met. Strong English skills and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
• If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and provides informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates and provides Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across military lifecycle.
• Uses virtual counseling/secure online communications when required by the contract.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision and training.
