Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor in El Segundo, CA to deliver counseling services to service members and their families on military installations.

You will educate on budgeting, debt management, and financial planning, while coordinating DoD-aligned workshops. Required are 3+ years of financial counseling, US citizenship and fluent English; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; AFC/CFP/ChFC certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English required.
• Bachelor's degree required; alternative with 4 years experience possible.
• Certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC preferred; DL required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assist in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and provide informational financial materials.
• Coordinate and deliver personal financial management classes/workshops.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and secure online communication as needed.
• Manage duty to warn per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training.
• Participate in contract activities and quality improvement efforts.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
