Job summary

Leidos is seeking Outreach Assistants to support Military OneSource on an as-needed basis. This role focuses on educating service members and families about available resources while representing the program at military and community events.

Candidates must be US citizens with base access and be within 40 miles of a base, able to obtain a Public Trust clearance, and willing to operate in a sporadic, on-demand schedule. Training and compliance are required to maintain eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
• Current military affiliation and authorized access to military installations required.
• Minimum two years of experience in customer service, outreach, community engagement or related support services.
• Demonstrated knowledge of military culture and military family lifestyles.
• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills; ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with military members, families and partners.
• Ability to represent the program at outreach events and briefings.
• Experience speaking to individuals and small groups; conducting informational briefings preferred.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment and maintain professionalism in public settings.
• Ability to lift and transport outreach materials up to 25 pounds.
• Must complete required program training and maintain knowledge of services.
• Must obtain and maintain necessary background checks and access to installations.

Responsibilities

• Represents the Military OneSource Program at installation and community outreach events as a professional ambassador.
• Educate Service members, families, leadership, and providers on resources and services.
• Conduct installation level community capacity-building activities and inform about program resources.
• Identify government-approved family programs and community resources for inclusion in the resource finder.
• Document outreach efforts, report on services provided, and identify gaps for improvements.
• Maintain compliance with reporting requirements and standards.
• Set up and manage informational displays and outreach booths for events.
• Engage with service members, families and partners to increase program awareness.
• Provide exceptional customer service and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
• Deliver accurate information about Military OneSource services and community resources.
