Job summary

Planned Systems International is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician at Madigan Army Medical Center on JBLM, Tacoma, WA. You will receive, accession, process, and prepare specimens for testing, while maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

The role requires at least one year of MLT experience, U.S. citizenship, CPT and BLS certifications, and graduation from an NAACLS/ABHES-accredited program or AMT-acceptable educational path.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year qualifying experience as Medical Laboratory Technician.
• U.S. citizenship required for contract work.
• CPT certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross; cards must show the issuing organization.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, label, accession, and process specimens from Madigan and DHA labs.
• Enter specimens and lab requests into LIS and MHS Genesis.
• Verify specimen integrity, labeling, and suitability for testing.
• Prepare and distribute specimens to appropriate lab sections or for transport.
• Process blood, urine, and other fluids per procedures.
• Prepare biological waste for disposal.
• Provide support to MLTs and CLSs, communicating specimen requirements with departments.
• Perform venipuncture when required.
• Greet patients, determine eligibility and testing priority, verify orders.
• Maintain HIPAA/SOP/PPE/Joint Commission compliance.
• Perform duties safely, timely, and with quality.
