Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families at Fort Detrick, MD. The role includes one-on-one coaching, workshops, and coordinating resources to enhance financial well‑being within DoD guidelines.

Qualifications include 3+ years in financial counseling, U.S. citizenship, fluent English, and preferred AFC/CFP/ChFC certifications.

Qualifications

3+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinates and presents Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
Responds to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilizes virtual counseling or electronic communication modes when required by the customer.
Adheres to DoD protocols for duty to warn situations and maintains leadership communication.
