Job Description Summary

The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real‑world job experiences under DoD Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full‑time with approved industry partners after unit commander provides written authorization.

Role Overview

Our ACSC facility develops and conducts engine component repairs – including rotating parts, complex assemblies and nozzles on 29 engine models. The Structure Parts Operations Supervisor will perform daily operations of the plant to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line, including Service Shops. The role oversees front‑line manufacturing employees, manages hourly staff, and is responsible for staffing and performance development. The supervisor uses technical expertise and analytical thinking to execute policy and strategy, proposes solutions for complex manufacturing processes, and acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues. The position may lead small projects and establish consensus around technical topics.

Basic Qualifications

• Active Military personnel in the last 180 days of military service
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of manufacturing shop experience (or a minimum high school diploma/GED with an additional 4+ years of manufacturing shop experience)
• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience (or military equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

• Aviation industry experience preferred
• Strong mechanical engineering background preferred
• Repair manufacturing shop experience (or military equivalent) desired
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute production delivery efforts with shop floor and cross‑functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve performance of team execution
• Strong oral and written communication skills with site cross‑functional support teams, shop floor workforce, management, and customers
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
• Aptitude for lean and continuous improvement concepts
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
• Established project management skills
• Ability to use data to make best decisions with turnaround time (TAT) in mind
