Job summary

Requires a high school diploma; there is a preference for two years of personal recovery experience and MH/SUD exposure, plus CPI and BLS certifications within 120 days.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of personal recovery experience preferred.
  • Some experience in the MH or SUD space preferred.
  • Driver's License required; no DUI/OWI in past 5 years.
  • CPI certification within 120 days of employment; maintain certification thereafter.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor individual and milieu interactions; conduct safety rounds to ensure a safe environment and program attendance for all patients.
  • Confront and process inappropriate behavior; facilitate patient processing of immediate thoughts and feelings.
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures.
  • Monitor residents in the self-administration of prescribed medications and ensure medications are kept secured (Halfway House environment).
  • Plan and facilitate therapeutic interactions, small group activities, and recreational programs.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment necessary to conduct group activities and assist in maintaining the therapeutic environment.
  • Communicate daily with clinical staff regarding relevant issues and participate in team meetings as required.
  • Maintain professional boundaries in relation to staff/patient interactions.
  • Evaluate and document effectiveness of intervention strategies.
  • Encourage patients to participate in 12 Step programs and philosophies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment and comply with regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate with respect and understanding of cultural, gender, and lifestyle differences.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices, follow safety rules, and participate in organizational safety programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of personal recovery experience preferred.
  • Some experience in the MH or SUD space preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. with no DUI's or OWI's in the past 5 years
  • Must be certified or obtain CPI certification within 120 days of employment and maintain current certification thereafter required.
  • Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) to be acquired within 120 days of hire/transfer date required.
