Henry Ford Health is seeking a Milieu Technician at the Brighton Center for Recovery in Michigan. The role supports a therapeutic milieu, conducts safety rounds, and assists in planning group activities and therapeutic interventions for residents.

Responsibilities include documenting promptly, monitoring self-administration of medications in a halfway house setting, maintaining a safe, clean environment, and collaborating with clinical staff while respecting diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor individual and milieu interactions; conduct safety rounds to ensure a safe environment and program attendance for all patients
• Confront and process inappropriate behavior; facilitate patient processing of immediate, in-the-moment thoughts and feelings
• Complete documentation in a timely manner consistent with all policies and procedures
• Monitor residents in the self-administration of prescribed medications and ensure medications are kept properly secured (Halfway House environment)
• Plan and facilitate therapeutic interactions, small group activities, and recreational programs
• Maintain supplies and equipment necessary to conduct group activities and assist in maintaining the therapeutic environment
• Communicate daily with clinical staff regarding relevant issues and participate in team meetings as required
• Maintain professional boundaries in relation to staff/patient interactions
• Evaluate and document effectiveness of intervention strategies
• Encourage patients to participate in 12 Step programs and philosophies
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and comply with regulatory agencies
• Communicate with respect and understanding of cultural, gender, and lifestyle differences
• Demonstrate safe work practices, follow safety rules, and participate in organizational safety programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of two years of personal recovery experience preferred.
• Some experience in the MH or SUD space preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

• Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. with no DUI's or OWI's in the past 5 years
• Must be certified or obtain CPI certification within 120 days of employment and maintain current certification thereafter required.
• Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) to be acquired within 120 days of hire/transfer date required.
