Job summary

Hartgrove Behavioral Health System is seeking a Milieu Supervisor to oversee clinical supervision for Program Specialists and Mental Health Specialists. The role acts as a liaison to directors to ensure coordinated and efficient services, and responds to codes, leading de-escalation when needed.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Psychology or related field; a Master's in clinical or Counseling Psychology is preferred, with at least three years of inpatient behavioral health experience and

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in the job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Milieu Supervisor must demonstrate flexibility and the knowledge and skills required to manage units providing care to a varied populations including children, adolescents, pre-adolescents and adults.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field required; Masters Degree in clinical or Counseling Psychology preferred.

Experience: Three years clinical experience with inpatient behavioral health population, previous clinical supervisory role in psychiatric setting preferred.

Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavioral management..

Working Conditions: Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.

Physical Demands: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting; prolonged standing, walking, bending and stooping.
