Job summary

Hartgrove Behavioral Health System is seeking a Milieu Supervisor to lead clinical supervision across programs and ensure coordinated, efficient service delivery in an inpatient setting.

You will respond to codes, guide de-escalation efforts, and work with department directors to maintain safety and quality of care for adults, youth, and diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in Psychology or related field. Masters preferred.
• Three years clinical experience with inpatient behavioral health.
• Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles and crisis management.

Responsibilities

• The Milieu Supervisor provides clinical supervision to all Program Specialists and Mental Health Specialists.
• Acts as liaison to department directors and administration for coordinated operations.
• Responsible for immediate response to all codes and leads de-escalation situations.

The Milieu Supervisor

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in the job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Milieu Supervisor must demonstrate flexibility and the knowledge and skills required to manage units providing care to a varied populations including children, adolescents, pre-adolescents and adults.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field required; Masters Degree in clinical or Counseling Psychology preferred.

Experience: Three years clinical experience with inpatient behavioral health population, previous clinical supervisory role in psychiatric setting preferred.

Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavioral management.

Working Conditions: Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.

Physical Demands: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting; prolonged standing, walking, bending and stooping.
