Job description

Milieu Specialist - Night Shift Per Diem

Metropolitan Behavioral Health, a UHS facility, is a 144‑bed behavioral health hospital that provides a full continuum of inpatient services, including specialty programs for adolescents, adults, and older adults. The facility offers behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day and programs for co‑occurring behavioral health and substance use issues. An outpatient program utilizing group, family, and individual therapy is also available.

The Milieu Specialist provides therapeutic milieu management, training of MHTs, and monitoring of the hospital units. Milieu management includes program content and philosophy, patient management training, environmental management, and staff competency. We are adding a per‑diem Milieu Specialist to our staff.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in psychology or similar social sciences from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five years of professional experience in a mental health hospital setting required.
• Experience as a Lead MHT.
• Current certification as a Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention instructor required or obtained within 5 months of being in the role.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to provide feedback and mentor existing & newly hired employees required.
• Current certification in BLS/CPR required.

Work Hours

This is a per diem position for 7 p.m.–7:30 a.m. shifts. Must be available to work rotating weekends and holidays.
