Job summary

Ridgeview Institute - Smyrna is seeking a Milieu Manager to oversee daily operation of evidence-based programming within an acute therapeutic milieu. You will supervise staff, support program development, and ensure patient goals for recovery and community reintegration are met.

Responsibilities include hiring and training Mental Health Technicians, promoting best practices, and coordinating with clinical teams to maintain standards of care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree with licensure in psychology, social work, professional counseling, education or medicine (or licensure eligibility).
  • Minimum 5 years full-time inpatient psychiatric experience; leadership preferred.
  • One year supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation of evidence-based milieu programming under Program Director.

Supports program development and organizational objectives, while ensuring that patient goals for recovery, stabilization, and community re-integration are supported by appropriate services. Directs and assists in hiring, training, and evaluation of Mental Health Technicians. Promotes facility values and philosophies in all aspects of treatment practice, in accordance with RIS policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws and regulation and licensure accreditation standards.

Your Experience Matters What We’re Looking For
  • Assist and implement directions provided by the Program Director of clinical care for the units. Monitor and reinforce adherence to the individual treatment plan, as developed by the treatment teams. Encourage staff to conceptualize and engage therapeutically, while modeling the application of care and/or evidence-based practice.
  • Support efforts to develop and maintain up-to-date and accurate program plans for all programs under supervision and assist in formal yearly content review to ensure compliance and treatment focus. Coordinate program plans with WBH standards of care for the population being served, and support effective communication and training for staff on program plan.
  • Ensure adherence to milieu treatment, unit program and maintain clear knowledge and understanding of the accrediting standards and licensing requirements governing the specific programs under his/her supervision.
  • Evaluate services provided by the programs in relation to specified goals and standards and recommend modifications as appropriate. Maintain current knowledge of standards of care for population(s) served by the program(s). Is cognizant of prevailing literature and clinical trends in the field.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with external monitors and evaluators. Maintain favorable attitude toward program review and evaluation and remain open to suggestions that would improve the delivery of services.
  • Aid in development and implementation of a treatment team approach in daily functioning of programming, with demonstrated skills in team development, collaboration, and open communication.
  • Maintain ongoing consultation and serve as a liaison between clinicians, psychiatrists, nurses, direct care staff and outside agencies in order to ensure the implementation of effective treatment. Monitor the submission and quality of documentation.
  • Maintain an active presence and oversee programs supervised by ensuring safe, appropriate and therapeutic interventions are implemented effectively.
  • Adhere to all WBH policies and procedures and assure implementation of care.
  • Directly assists in hiring, training, mentoring and discipline of Mental Health Technicians.
  • Conduct bi-weekly meetings and supervision sessions with all Mental Health Technicians.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the CEO/COO.
  • Participate in continued performance quality improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Preferred education is a graduate degree from an accredited school of psychology, social work, professional counseling, education or medicine with licensure or licensure eligibility as a Clinical Psychologist, Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Nursing or Psychiatrist (MSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, Psy.D., Ed.D., RN, LPN or equivalent). In lieu of an advanced degree, a minimum of seven to ten years of work experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting with leadership responsibility is required.
  • Five years full-time experience in inpatient psychiatric setting or equivalent.
  • One year supervisory experience preferred.

Compensation

This is a full-time role, and the expected compensation range is between $60,000.00 and $68,000.00. with twelve-hour shifts and rotating weekends. We’re eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be given to experience and skill level. Join us as our Milieu Manager!
