Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC seeks a Network Design Engineer to design and document MILDEP Campus Area Network for the COMPMOD program, spanning US Army installations and CONUS networks. The role requires coordinating with Project/Program Managers and Lead Engineers to ensure correct design choices and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS in a technical field, 10+ years in network design, Cisco CCNA certification (CCNP/CCD P preferred), and strong communication.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a technical discipline with at least 10 years of experience.
• Cisco CCNA certification.
• Ability to direct technical resources in the completion of tasks including network design upgrades, configurations, cutover plans, and testing.
• Experience with Layer 2/3 networks: spanning tree, SDN, VLANs, VNI, VRF, CISCO equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering assessments of different configurations and review work products for correctness and adherence to customer standards.
• Coordinate with Project/Program Manager to ensure problem resolution and user satisfaction; work with Lead Engineer on design decisions.
• Make recommendations for approval of major systems installations; prepare milestone reports and deliver presentations on system concepts.
• Adhere to Army engineering processes; submit site reports and drawings for Government review and approval.
