Job summary

School City of Hammond seeks an experienced educator to develop curriculum meeting developmental goals and instructional activities. You will post syllabi, projects, and grades to the school server accessible to students, parents, and the community, and maintain a positive classroom environment aligned with conduct codes.

The role requires a valid Indiana teaching license or eligibility, plus certification in Mild Intervention and/or intensive disability areas.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university.
Must hold valid Indiana State Teacher's License or be eligible for licensure for corresponding age/grade level.
Certification in Mild Intervention and/or Intense disability area (MI, MO, ED, SLD).
Knowledge of IIEP system and related procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing and implementing curriculum.

Responsibilities

Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
Post syllabus, projects/lessons, and grades to the server accessible to students, parents, and the community.
Maintain a classroom environment consistent with codes of conduct.
Use rubric-based assessment to evaluate progress and adapt programs.
Communicate with families and staff regarding student progress and behavior.
Collaborate with staff to improve instructional programs and school operation.
Provide a safe, respectful learning environment for all students.
